THE PRINCE OF POP AND HIS DECADE-LONG REIGN
Powerful ballads, remarkable originals, strong vocals, heartfelt renditions and a true Pop icon, Erik Santos
has smoothly taken us on a journey through a decade of good music and by remaining as one of the
industry's most conspicuous artists and celebrated OPM phenomenon.
A DECADE OF MUSIC
Since that stellar moment during his rendition of "This Is The Moment" on ABS-CBN's singing reality
talent-search "Star In A Million" in 2003, the soul everyone witnessed from then wildcard finalist Erik
Santos gave him the much desired triumph. The acquired triumph started opening a lot of doors for him
and labelled Erik as the country's “Prince of Pop”.
"This Is The Moment", Erik's first album that went platinum three months after its release was the first
material that showcased his ground-breaking vocals and positioned him to the ballad stream. The album
produced massive hits such as "Pagbigyang Muli", "Di Ko Kaya" and "Kung Akin ang Mundo". Erik's
Platinum sophomore album "Loving You Now" was released the following year and continued giving
soulful ballads via hit singles "Who's Loving You Now", "I Will Never Leave You", remake of Ella Mae
Saison's "Goodbye's Not Forever" and "Bakit Ba Iniibig Ka?" an unforgettable collaboration with Asia's
Songbird Regine Velasquez.
Erik ventured into something new on "Your Love". Your Love featured Erik's own rendition of popular all-
time pop-rock songs. Your Love scored platinum hit singles like Neocolours' "Say You'll Never Go", After
Image's "Next in Line" and Rockstar's "Parting Time", a belting piece duet with the R&B Princess Kyla. As
a season breaker, Erik released his first Christmas album "All I Want This Christmas" with its carrier hit
single "Ngayong Pasko". In 2008, Star Records and Warner Music Philippines combined the two top pop
balladeers in the country. Erik and Christian Bautista did a joint project titled "Face-Off", a rundown of
their hit singles in one album. "Never Give Up" was the hit duet released from the album.
The following year marked another milestone in Erik's career. Music and ballad genius Jim Brickman
blessed Erik with "The Jim Brickman Songbook". A collection of Jim Brickman's creations and performed
by the Prince of Pop. "My Love Is Here” fronted the album to its platinum status. Erik's seventh
album "Awit Para Sa'yo" was his trademark ballad-full comeback album. The platinum-selling album
rendered the originals; "Kulang Ako Kung Wala Ka", "Bakit Mahal Pa Rin Kita" and the feel-good track
"Hindi Na Magbabago".
It wasn't an ordinary chain of albums for Erik. In between his main albums, Erik has also done couple
of special singles for EPs, LPs, soundtracks, compilations and many more. Singles for; "Love Life by
Boy Abunda", "May Bukas Pa Album", "Tambayan Album", "I-Star 15 OPM No.1s" and recently the very
succesful "Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs" just to recall a few.
Erik's discography just goes to show how his music is being expended in an unbounded extent, not
just on radio alone but through variety of platforms as well. Progressively heard on hit teleseryes and
blockbuster movies over the last decade, Erik's latest music offering is something that will delight his
loyal listeners on these mediums. "The Erik Santos Collection" is a compilation of all the teleserye and
movie theme songs he has recorded. "Muling Buksan Ang Puso" (from "Muling Buksan Ang Puso), "If
You Asked Me To" (from "Unofficially Yours"), "Suddenly It's Magic" (from "Suddenly It's Magic"), "Ikaw"
(from "Ina, Kapatid, Anak"), "Miss You Like Crazy" (from "Miss You Like Crazy"), "I'll Never Go"
(from "One More Chance") and "Maging Sino Ka Man" (from "Maging Sino Ka Man") are just a glimpse
of the tracks in the album that summarize his ten years in the business and gave him the secondary title
“King Of Teleserye Themesongs”.
A DECADE OF RECOGNITION
With his unquestioned talent and wide array of music, multi-platinum albums and sold-out concerts here
and abroad, no wonder why Erik Santos is being appreciated meritoriously. Country's prestigious award-

his horizons through hosting and acting. After his Star In A Million win, Erik became, and still a mainstay
performer and host on ABS-CBN's Sunday Variety Show "ASAP". Erik also hosted "Star Power", a
singing-reality show with the Megastar Sharon Cuneta. While the two notable lead appearances on
"MMK" and musical stage play "Little Mermaid" w/ Rachelle Ann Go had proven that Erik has got acting
Consistently associated with major concerts and jam-packed tours locally and abroad, plus his soulful big
pipes, Erik has never failed to fill any concert venue and leave mesmerizing performances. Throughout

Fame didn’t even cross the mind of then 14-year-old Jessy Mendiola when she joined Star Magic’s workshop back in 2007 together with her older sister. But it seems it was her destiny to become Philippine television’s next big star because out of the many aspiring, young talents in her batch, she was the only one who caught the eye of star maker Mr. Johnny Manahan. “I can still remember Mr. M asking me ‘Gusto mo bang mag-artista?’ The clueless me back then answered, ‘Is it okay if pag-isipan ko po muna? Can you give me three days?’” Jessy recounted. She did think about it for three days and after discussing the matter with her mom and siblings, Jessy signed up with Star Magic, the country’s most prestigious artist management arm. But she did not say “yes” to Mr. M’s offer because she wanted to be an actress, but rather because she felt the need to be the family’s breadwinner. “Life wasn’t easy for us especially before I entered showbiz. I grew up without a dad and it’s only my mom who’s working to support our needs. I’ve experienced very tough times. I have experienced not having much. I even experienced eating instant noodles for dinner for many days,” she shared. Jessy was born in Dubai to a British-Lebanese dad and a Filipina mom. She moved to the Philippines when her mom decided to start anew here. Jessy lived a life apart from her dad and grew up seeing her mom as both a mom and a dad to her and her two siblings. “My mom has been working hard all her life. That’s why it was very easy for me to take a stand and unburden her of the responsibility of providing for our family,” she explained. From being a simple high school student, Jessy’s life turned 360-degrees when she entered show business and began acting on television. Like any other rising star, she went through a series of workshops and did minor roles on various ABS-CBN programs. She waited long hours on the set, with only minimal speaking lines. Slowly, the reluctant star began to embrace her newfound passion, acting. “I have learned to love the craft and it motivated me to do better. I am working not only to provide for my family, but because I have actually started to enjoy acting. I realized that I really want to become a good actress,” Jessy revealed. She waited patiently for her career to blossom until she finally got her big break. In 2010, she was launched in her first title role as “Sabel,” a show that marked the beginning of her reign as ABS-CBN’s next teleserye princess. Her popularity and premium as an actress were bolstered after she did the television series “Budoy” and afternoon soap “Precious Hearts Romances Presents Paraiso” and starred in her first movie “The Reunion.” Now tagged as one of Philippine television’s prettiest faces, Jessy has become one of the country’s fast-rising cover girls after being featured on the covers of top glossy magazines such as Metro, Chalk, Men’s Health, Meg and Preview. She has also proven to be a sought-after product endorser after brands Head and Shoulders, Myra E, Boardwalk, Bench and McDonalds tapped her to be their image model. Bigger things await Jessy this year as she is set to reprise the role of Maria Mercedes played by Mexican superstar Thalia back in the 90s. “This is really one of my dream roles. I grew up watching Maria Mercedes and I still can’t believe that I will actually become the Pinay version of this character loved by many Filipinos,” she said. Just recently, Star Cinema also announced that Jessy is set to do a movie with John Lloyd Cruz, Richard Gomez, and Dawn Zulueta.

Two-time Aliw awardee for Best Comedy Act, actor and TV host John Lapus takes center stage at the Music Museum on June 15, 2013 with his show entitled Sweet in a Box to celebrate his 20 fruitful years in the showbiz industry.
“Sweet after twenty years is much bolder and spicier. Of course, I will be in my honest, direct to the point punch lines as I tackle life inside the box of showbiz”, said comedian John. “Watch out for my new character Tweetums and the infamous Sweet Anino crying a river while announcing her resignation from showbiz and prepares to embrace politics in 2016. But wait there’s more, the ending of my show is a must watch! If people know me for my buwis-buhay dance numbers, might as well, let’s do a level up. The end will showcase Sweet coming out of the box.” He also highlighted that he will be wearing stunning creations of this industry’s fabulous and celebrated fashion designers namely JC Buendia, Pablo Cabahug, Jeffrey Rogador, Tatah Galias, Totoy Madriaga, Bea Albert and Bing Cristobal.
From his humble beginnings as a researcher, Sweet has come full circle as a total entertainer and an award winning actor. With the support of his fellow Star Magic Kapamilya talents Angeline Quinto, Enrique Gil and Xian Lim with the special participation of Jake Cuenca and Julia Clarete, audience can only expect best live performances. Directed by Phillip Lazaro who also spearheaded Sweet 16, Sweet @ 18, Comic Divas, and the two record-breaking Jose – Wally concerts in Araneta Coliseum.
“This is one, very exciting concert! In fact, we are sending a special reminder to everyone watching. The show is not the usual doll in the box. Sweet in a Box concert is recommended for 13 years old and above not for its small parts but because of its dirty parts,” John ends in guffaw.
The show is sponsored by ABS-CBN, Star Magic, Pep.Ph, Orange Segment Print and Design Studio, Golds Gym, Hairwatch Salon and Planet Drugstore. For ticket inquiries, you may call 0927.751.5726 / 0923.929.9994 or TicketWorld hotline 891-9999.
